Raymond G. Hiestand Sr. a member of VFW Post 7215 in Walnutport passed away on  April 16, 2021
Raymond Gish Hiestand Sr., age 83 of Polk Twp., Kunkletown formerly of Lebanon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 16th at Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospice House in East Stroudsburg.
Raymond was the loving husband of Nancy (Gingrich) Hiestand who preceded him in death in 2017.
He worked for the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator then Yeoman serving our country from 1957 until his retirement in 1983 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.
He attended the Effort United Methodist Church in Effort and the Danielsville United Methodist Church in Danielsville.
Raymond was a lifetime member of the VFW, the American Legions Post 927 in Gilbert, Chief Petty Officers of USN, NRA, DAV, Indian Mt. Rod & Gun Club in Kresgeville and was on the Men's Golf League at Indian Mt. Golf Club in Kresgeville.
We have been blessed with the presence of Raymond in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his children: Raymond G. Hiestand Jr. and his wife Tammy of Brodheadsville, Howard G. Hiestand and his wife Gorethy of Washington, DC, and Toni M. Morris of San Diego, CA.
Raymond was the loving grandfather to his grandchildren: Christopher M. Hiestand, Derrick G. Hiestand, and Terra L. Morris, his great-grandsons: Marshall G. Hiestand and Macklin S. Hiestand who lovingly called him Paw-Paw.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM, Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert with Rev. David Felker officiating.
Family and friends are welcome to offer condolences from 10 am Wednesday, April 21st until the time of service at the funeral home..
Raymond will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery in Annville with Military Honors.
