Thomas H. Liuzzo, 84, of Gouldsboro, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Married on August 28, 1974, to the former Diane (Pearson), the couple celebrated 49 years together.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Samuel and Laura (Balaban) Liuzzo. Thomas graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale, served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of St. Rita's Church in Gouldsboro. As a hard worker, Thomas worked until he turned 83 and decided it was time to retire. During his career, he worked as a superintendent at Keystone Sanitary Landfill for over 35 years, Commonwealth Environmental Systems, and the Mount Group in Sterling Twp. as a heavy equipment operator.

Thomas enjoyed the camaraderie he experienced while in the Army and continued to cherish it while holding memberships in the American Legion Post 274 in Gouldsboro and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 509 in Tobyhanna. He loved being outside, gave the best advice, and even in his final days, made everyone around him laugh and smile. Thomas would give anyone the shirt off of his back and give endlessly to any charity that would help kids.

He couldn't wait to start his mornings with a good cup of coffee, especially around the kitchen table with Diane. Nothing made him more proud than his family and he beamed with pride as his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren created memories that will be treasured forever.

In addition to his wife Diane, Thomas is survived by his children: Teresa Morris and her husband Dale, Lisa Carachilo, Laurann Hoover and her husband Kevin, and Jonathan Liuzzo, and his wife Christie. Thomas Liuzzo and his wife Gretchen, Mark Liuzzo and his wife Lisa, Samuel Liuzzo and his wife Jaclyn; his stepson: Brian Cromer and his wife Marge; his sisters: Mary Carole Roche and Saundra Liuzzo; his brother: Jeff Liuzzo; his grandchildren: Ronnie, Kayley, Kamryn, Damon, Hilary, Olivia, Adrianna, Brandon "Little Rockyā€¯, Jonathan, Chelsea, Frankie, Ryan, and Bradley; his great grandchildren: Arya, Brinley and several nieces and nephews.
